May 2017 Meeting Recap

The meeting of the Lincoln County Area Retired School Personnel was held on May 11, 2017 at the Lincoln County Health Department.

The meeting started with a program presented by local author Adria Bolle Waters, a former student to many of the school personnel in attendance. Adria is the author of at least five books, two that stand alone and three that are a part of a series.  In sharing her back story behind becoming an author she explained to the group that she is a “paranormal enthusiast”. So, many of her writings can be considered a ghost story.  One book in particular Always Sweet Sixteen, is about Josie Reynolds who after watching life pass her by discovers she has been a ghost for nearly sixty years. Her mentor, Calvin, must help her find a way to move on.  Always Sweet Sixteen is an exciting book and leaves you wanting more. You can learn more about Adria Waters and her writings on Facebook: AdriaWatersWrites, Twitter: @AdriaWaters1, and Amazon: Adria Waters.

The Lincoln County retirees added another 574 hours of community service. In addition to community service monetary donations were made to the Hawk Point Food Pantry and Buddy Bags.

Our next meeting is Thursday, June 8, 2017 with presentations from Lincoln County RIII School District grant recipients and Cuivre River State Park activities.

The members of the Lincoln County Area Retired School Personnel will take the month of July and August off for traveling and/or rest and recreation.

On Thursday September 14th the membership will welcome the 2017 newly retired school personnel and honor their years of service by hosting a luncheon on behalf of the new retirees.
