A Christmas Lights Tour

Sixteen members of the Lincoln County Area Retired School Personnel traveled to Boonville and toured the Holiday Lights at Warm Springs Ranch December 8, 2019.

LCARSP Hosts 2019 Region 13 Annual Meeting

LCARSP hosted the Annual Region 13 Meeting today, October 22, at the First Christian Church of Troy. The theme was "Let the Journey Continue" This opportunity brought our local MRTA Units together for information sharing, fellowship and a delicious meal!
MRTA information was presented by Executive Director Jim Kreider, 

MRTA President Fred Price, 

Forrest T. Jones Representative Tom Wales, 

State Region 13 Vice President Sherry Brandes, 
State Committee Chairs and Region 13 Unit Presidents,

including our own Unit President, Jan Burlison.

James Bertels, Troy R-III teacher, presented a wonderful program about his Journey of Music. 

Backroads Pizza and Grill catered the luncheon of several varieties of lasagna, salads and fruit.

For fun, the Troy Unit set up a PHOTO booth, provided "travel give-aways, and let attendees choose books for attendance prizes.

The Troy Unit also sponsored a raffle for gift baskets raising funds for the Missouri Retired Teacher Foundation (MRTF) classroom grants. These baskets raised almost $500, the cost of one MRTF grant!

LCARSP to Host Annual Region 13 Meeting

All Aboard!
Your journey begins here...


The Lincoln County Area Retired School Personnel unit will host the annual MRTA Region 13 Meeting and Luncheon October 22, 2019.  The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. (Continental Breakfast at 9:30) at the First Christian Church, 1302 Boone Street in Troy.  

The $18 fee includes a Continental Breakfast of muffins, fruits and coffee and a catered luncheon by Backroads Pizza and Grill, Inc.  The luncheon menu includes assorted spring greens, seasonal fruit with champagne dip, Italian sausage lasagna with marinara sauce, veggie lasagna with Alfredo sauce, zucchini lasagna with meat sauce, quinoa with roasted butternut squash and Brussels sprouts, and desserts.

Along with the regular meeting protocol and Region 13 unit updates, there will be raffle baskets to benefit the Missouri Retired Teachers Foundation, pick-a-book door prizes and lots of opportunity to meet fellow MRTA members and leaders from across the region and state.

LCARSP BBQ to Welcome New Retirees

LCRSP hosted a BBQ in honor of the new retirees Thursday, August 22 at Cuivre River State Park. After an early rain shower, the sun came out and the group enjoyed hot dogs, brats and all of the fixings! We shared information about what our local groups has to offer as well as all MRTA does to protect our pensions.

 
 
We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the September 12th meeting (10 a.m.) in the Conference Room at the Lincoln County Health Department in Troy! Jim Kreider, MRTA Executive Director, will share updated info on our new MRTA year. We will also have a CARRY-IN lunch!!

June Meeting at Winfield R-IV School District

The LCARSP held their June meeting at the Lincoln County R-IV School District in Winfield. 
Superintendent Daniel Williams shared lots of interesting information about the district.  
 We really appreciated his time and all of the great information!
The group then held their monthly meeting and ended the day eating at Anchors Restaurant.

Shakespeare In The Park

Several LCARSP members attended a performance of "Shakespeare In The Park" in Forest Park.  The weather was wonderful, the performance was great and the food and company were delightful!
