St. Charles County Veterans Museum Tour

On Friday, July 29, eight members, spouses and friends got together and toured the st. Charles County Veterans Museum.  The facility is an inspiring, informing, and engaging tribute to our service men and women and serves to honor St. Charles County veterans who served in the United States of America with patriotic valor.

The museum has an amazing array of information, stories and artifacts about local veterans.  Included are outdoor exhibits and memorials in a park-like setting that the community can enjoy.

The docent that led our tour mentioned they have received a gift of acreage off Brian Road for $1.00 per acre.  The museum is very thankful for the property but said it will cost $300,000+ to build.  If you are looking for a worth cause to donate to, you might consider the Veterans Museum.

Every veteran has a story.  If you would like to contribute, contact the museum at sccvetmuseum@gmail.com or all 636-294-2657.

LCARSP Members Raise Funds for Imagination Library

LCARSP once again heard a need in our local education community and have stepped up to the plate! Lincoln County R-3 has been pleased to offer books free to district children, birth - age five, through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Program. Once enrolled in this program, children receive an age-appropriate book each month in the mail. The child will keep receiving books until their fifth birthday. The majority of the funding for this program was through the United Way. The school district was recently notified this funding was being reduced. School district retirees of Lincoln County challenged each other to raise $1000 and we did it!
Pictured are President Clarissa Sydnor and Treasurer Jane Allen presenting a check of over $1000 to Michelle King, Early Childhood Center Principal, to help with this wonderful program that puts good books in the hands of our youngest learners.
